CDTC was honored and privileged to host Bethany as she presented on Her Odyssey for the first time since completing this amazing journey. Bethany shared a combination of deep personal reflection, revelation and poignant observations through storytelling where love for the land, the waters and the people encountered along the way were embedded in every word. There was humor, heartbreak, awe, and most definitely inspiration – and not just to go out and do something big- but inspiration for simply looking at our immediate surroundings with a different lens than before. It was also a moment to appreciate in a world often dominated by male adventure headlines- Bethany and her hiking partner, Lauren, took on something very few people- not just women- have done, at least in the present day world. To support the voice Bethany brings to the conversation around what is adventure and who is doing it- was as powerful as the journey itself.”Teresa Martinez, Executive Director
