This moment only means anything because of everything that went into getting here.

137 days, hundreds of incredible people, thousands of breathtaking miles, and so much more than I can put in to words.

Reflecting as I walked, recognized how appropriate it is to say, “I can’t capture the feeling.”
Because this is wilderness, and it can never be captured wholly; though, those of you who have touched it, know exactly what I’m unable to say.

I feel fulfilled. And weary.

Walked out of Lordsburg, the final town on the #ContinentalDivideTrail and into a cloudy afternoon which played host to one of the most powerful lightning shows I’ve seen on this entire trail.
It was magical.
Enriched by the poignancy which arises only at firsts and lasts.

As the sun set across Tucson, so too did the sun set on my time along the #wildwestroute .
My friend @desertsirena had offered me a ride back up to Flagstaff, where I had left my car.
.
I will return to finish up the southern 150(ish) miles of the route in December, before meeting back up with Fidgit to connect our route down to Nicaragua.
.
Thank you all for your support and encouragement along the way, it means more than you can imagine.

Cycling up over Mt Lemmon from Globe- wow.
.
The weather was nearly perfect as I pedaled along a dirt road, gaining elevation along the slopes of Mt Lemmon as it ascended to a little over 8,000 ft.
.
The air was thin and the dirt road steepened at the top, so I huffed and puffed my way up, alternating between cursing the weight I was packing and being grateful for the gearing on my bike.
.
Near the Apex, the road turned to smooth pavement and I coasted down 6,000 feet of elevation along winding two-lane highway into Tucson. I considered it my reward the uphill energy output and savored every moment.
